What Todoer Does

Todoer connects to your Gmail and Slack accounts to automatically detect commitments you've made in your sent emails and authored messages. It surfaces those commitments so you never forget to follow through.

What We Access

  • Gmail — read-only access to your sent emails only. We do not access your inbox, drafts, or any other mailbox.
  • Slack — read-only access to messages you have authored in channels and direct messages you are part of.
  • Google Profile — your name, email address, and profile picture for authentication purposes.

How Your Messages Are Processed

Your recent sent messages are sent to OpenAI's API for commitment detection. This is a fully automated process — no human reads your messages.

  • OpenAI's API does not use your data to train their models (per their API data usage policy).
  • OpenAI retains API inputs for up to 30 days for abuse and safety monitoring, then deletes them.
  • Messages are transmitted securely over HTTPS. They are not stored by Todoer beyond the processing window.

What We Store

Todoer stores only:

  • Your account information (name, email, profile picture).
  • Detected commitments — a short task headline, deadline, recipient, and a brief snippet from the original message for context.
  • A link back to the original message in Gmail or Slack so you can review the full context in the source application.

We do not store full email bodies, full Slack message histories, or any messages that do not contain detected commitments.

Third-Party Services

  • OpenAI — processes message content for commitment detection via their API.

We do not sell, share, or transfer your data to any other third parties.

Your Controls

  • You can revoke Todoer's access to your Google account at any time via Google Account Permissions.
  • You can remove the Todoer Slack app from your workspace at any time via Slack's app management settings.
  • You can request deletion of all your data by contacting us at the email below.
