What is Todoer?
Todoer scans your Gmail and Slack for commitments you've made — things like 'I'll send that over by Friday' or 'Let me set up a meeting next week' — and collects them in one place so nothing falls through the cracks.
How does it detect commitments?
When you sign in, Todoer reads your recently sent emails and authored Slack messages. It uses AI to identify sentences where you've committed to doing something, extracts the action and deadline, and surfaces them as tasks you can review, complete, or dismiss.
What messages does Todoer read?
Only messages you wrote — your sent Gmail emails and your authored Slack messages. Todoer never reads your inbox, other people's messages, or anything you didn't write yourself.
Is my data sent to a third party?
Yes — your message content is sent to OpenAI's API for commitment detection. OpenAI does not use API data to train their models, and retains it for up to 30 days for safety monitoring only. No human reads your messages. See our Privacy Policy for full details.
What data does Todoer store?
Todoer stores your account info (name, email), and detected commitments — a short task summary, deadline, recipient, and a brief context snippet. We do not store the full content of your emails or Slack messages.
Can I delete my data?
Yes. You can disconnect Gmail or Slack at any time from the app. To delete your account and all associated data, contact us at abhijeet@backprop.in.
Does Todoer work with Google Workspace accounts?
Yes. Todoer works with both personal Gmail and Google Workspace (corporate) accounts.
Do I need to install anything in Slack?
No separate installation is needed. When you click 'Connect Slack' inside Todoer, it walks you through authorizing access. If you're a workspace admin, it works instantly. If not, your workspace admin may need to approve the connection.
Is Todoer free?
Todoer is currently free while in early access. We may introduce pricing in the future, and early users will be notified in advance.
